March 25, 2022 - Still drinking well. Not going to get any better though. Time to drink them now.
September 14, 2019 - Double decant, went well with a ditch stout brisket pie.
July 14, 2018 - Very nice wine. Rich with hints of spice. Some berry tones. Quite long on the pallete. Had aged perfectly and was a really enjoyable.
April 30, 2016 - Black currant, coffeed oak, slight hints of green. A great job from a difficult year
January 30, 2016 - Red colour with a dark core
SOme pencil shaving on the nose, quite perfumed
Initially fragrant with acidity to the fore and then a nutty almost tawny port quality at the end.
Idiosyncratic and rather wonderful
October 9, 2015 - Double decanted prior to tasting. Restrained nose at first but it opened nicely in the glass. Good fruit - mainly damson and red fruits. Very rich and spicy. I have no doubt this will age well but I'm afraid the Shiraz/Cabernet combination doesn't always work for me (my problem, I know) so I haven't rated the wine.
Tasted at Grand Union Wine Society with Scott Edge of Negociants UK.
April 16, 2015 - 54% Cabernet 46% Shiraz
Very nice easy drinking, immediately accessible. Light body reflecting the vintage, dry not sweet and enjoyable.
A foil to Penfold's 389. Would like to see this from 2012 with greater fruit weight and drink along side the 389.
November 8, 2014 - (tasting@Rockford) [54% cab, 46% shiraz] Dark garnet, expressive dark spice, perfume, soft capsicum, white pepper, chewy, slightly stemmy. Tight tannins. Big structure. Odd off leathery funk on finish.
