April 10, 2014 - OK, so I've been in the Castagnole area for about 4 of the past 10 nights now, and I've been trying several different producers of a grape that I've really been able to live without. This bottle, while pleasant, doesn't change things; though Crivelli makes a good case. Opens with fruit, and a little of the Ruchè floral notes, but by the second glass, soil and caraway seeds dominate. The palate is as it should be, lifted, texturally pleasing, with a medium finish. Nothing wildly complex about this, but then it's still very young (purchased this afternoon at Casa de Ruchè - conveniently adjoined to Ristorante da Geppe - in Castagnole). Seems to ride the line between traditional and international. Newcomers to the grape that start here, would be rather spoiled, and might altogether miss the lovely typicity that say Crivelli produces. At 14€ it's not a recommend. This needs a year in bottle to come together. 15% abv, drink thru 2017
