April 18, 2017 - Drinking nice at 13 yrs old.
A little bit of a roasted fruity flavor but not too much. I like it.
March 17, 2013 - Dark garnet color with nice viscosity. Aromas of dark fruit and camphor. A power house. Very ripe dark fruit flavors with with lots of alcohol. Having said that, it's well integrated with a very lengthy and pleasant finish. Can't imagine a food pairing.
March 11, 2013 - clear, ruby, in color. dark fruit, blueberry, smoke, vanilla, toast, cedar, oak, on the nose. mild acid, medium tannins, on this delicious finish.
October 30, 2012 - Pop and pour - note after 2 hours. Blackberries and licorice on the nose. This opened up with a bit of air, showing lots of black fruit, spice and pepper. Fruit seems to be fading and a bit of heat on the finish. Nice wine but I don't see a reason to hold on to it.
December 22, 2011 - My oldest Carlisle and a real testament to the ageability of Mike's wines. Awesomesauce!
December 13, 2011 - Good but showed a little lighter with less pronounced flavors.
August 7, 2011 - I hate last bottles, especially when the wine is drinking as beautifully as the '04 Three Birds. Absolutely delicious with moose stroganoff. Double decanted about 3 hours before dinner. The color was a light ruby with a slight hint of age. Both the nose and the palate showed very nice fruit and spice with a little earthiness and leather. The wine was very elegant and perfectly balanced though not particularly complex. This is the best of the three bottles I have had. I have to believe it is drinking at its peak; but alas, I have no bottles remaining to test that theory )-:

January 28, 2011 - This is still drinking really well. Lots of fruit, still some strong alcohol, not old and past its prime. Tell the bestjetsfan that I may have my next bottle during the Steeler-Packers Super Bowl, if I'm not being a real man and drinking Iron City...
January 26, 2011 - Fruit forward with nicely texture ... drinking well now but might hold for a few years. Slightly hot finish is the only negative.
