March 5, 2019 - Deceptively easy to drink on PnP. A bit of Rocks-like gaminess, with dark fruit and peppery notes. Not tremendously complex, but nice on a weeknight. Paired just fine with some gumbo.

December 24, 2017 - Red pepper nose, smokey, whiskey barrel. Lots of spice, black pepper, some dark fruit at the end.

November 24, 2016 - Nice easy drinking mid week bottle. Nothing to complain or write home about here. Not complex but some nice fruit and texture.

May 14, 2015 - Hot and overripe. The biggest thing on the palate is the high ABV, as well as on the palate. Some fruit compote on the palate after the vapors come off as well as a wee bit of underbrush. Just me not liking Grenache any longer but especially from this vintage and bought juice.

December 6, 2014 - Excellent. Sour black fruit, earth and a bit of cassis. Decanted about 2 hrs first and drank over 3 hrs. Got better as the night went on.

November 22, 2014 - This was opened to get a feel for this wine. It was really enjoyable for the first hour. Plenty of tranche fruit, thick blackberry compote and kirsch, and the Syrah kicked in a nice but of cassis. some under currents of the provincial herbs and green peppercorn. Tannins and acid were all in check and it was delicious. However after being open a bit more than an hour thing went all disjointed with tannins and acid getting higher and the weedy part of the granite dominant and fruit faded, with that bitter herbal twang at the end. drink now, but don't decant or vinturi, would be my advice or hold onto this for quite a while. It has everything a very good CdR or Gigondas has, and the stuffing to last. I will probably served at Thanksgiving where it will be consumed fairly quickly as the fruit and balance in that first hour is just great for the family.
