August 17, 2016 - Very fresh. Correct bottle. Recent release. A bit waxy.

August 16, 2016 - Casual Burg Dinner with Friends (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Orchard fruit aromas and flavors with moderate weight and depth. Good now, i wouldn't hold this much past the next few years. Some thought this had some bitter notes more common in 2004 reds, but I couldn't find any of that.

April 25, 2016 - Second to last bottle of a case of six....all have been stellar. Again like the first one in 2012 the first sniff warned of the pox....more baked apple, sherry notes than it should......but with some air, it dissipates....this fresh citrus awakes...we are happy again! This bottle 4 yrs later is showing more age though of course.....not as bright as before...the baked apple is still there, but more in an aged way....honey notes, buttered brioche, truffle....to go along with the creamy and ripe orchard fruit...white peach, pear, apple.....lemon/lime citrus tingles the palate, as well as a really nice spice note like ginger and white pepper. Still seems more subtle for a GC....but I guess all these little nuances make it so. Pretty florals...honeycomb, smoked sea salt, mineral chalk.....then that 04 acidity, which I love, comes in and power washes it! Would be really interesting to see this wine in 20 years.....definitely let it air out a few hours if you open it now. Great wine!

April 8, 2016 - Burg Dinner with Friends (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Floral with apple and pear with faint sweet spice. Moderate weight and textures, very good right now. An interesting pairing with Morey-Blanc 2004 CC.
