June 30, 2016 - Popped and poured. Wasn't sure what to expect at 12 years of age, especially given the young vines. But this was fantastic. Mature rich Chardonnay fruit enlivened by bright lemony acidity and chalky soil notes. Reminded me of a grand cru Chablis but with unmistakable California fruit intensity.

April 26, 2015 - Found this hiding in the cellar. PnP. Medium gold. Lemon-lime on the nose. Definitely developing secondary complexity and some richness but still has a Chablis like acidity and an almost limestone-like taste on the finish. Worked beautifully with a spring vegetable pasta with shrimp. Very unusual California wine; I believe these were very young vines - drink up if you have any.

November 27, 2014 - Fourth bottle of six and the best yet. Effusive nose of lightly carmelized sugar, honey, sweet toasty nuts and a floral element. Slightly viscous mouth feel with excellent concentration. Finely judged vein of citrus carries the tertiary honey/lightly caramelized tones all the way through to the long finish. Great match with crab and corn chowder.

August 23, 2014 - Light gold color. Smoke, tropical fruit, nut paste on the nose. These continue on the palate where the richness is cut by citrus and minerals. An aged CA chard that is nicely poised and drinking beautifully.

May 10, 2014 - My last of three. Worth the price? This one was: chalky floral nose; very rich and full mouth that avoids the full speed ahead model (Aubert, kistler) of buttery richness and steers towards the model of fruity, chalky richness with white and yellow fruit; nice, extended length with lingering notes of orange tropical fruits.

Very good showing ten years out.
