February 3, 2024 - Remarkably deep color. A whiff of VA. Amazingly sweet dark cherry with a mineral base and not much tannin. Shorter finish. A real bolt from the blue and far better than the only other time I had it back in 2016.

November 11, 2023 - Still alive with a hint of sherried notes, fragrant nose. Light-medium bodied and medium finish. Palate was slightly simple despite the age.

May 2, 2023 - Return to Italy: Pio Cesare, Gaja, Oddero, Tignanello and more (Flour Shop, Charlotte, NC) (Charlotte, NC): 9 hours in advance, decanted for 30 minutes, back in the bottle and slo-ox in temperature controlled cellar. Nicely aromatic nose of dried rose petals. Very cloudy and hazy in the glass. Smooth and refined on the mouthfeel. Flavorful notes of dried raspberries. Great texture and tasty, soft finish. A deliciously elegant Barolo that can complement aged Red Burgundy.

October 3, 2022 - excellent again, my prior note applies... this one had a little more (surprisingly) tannin... actually -- at least when tasted after going into the decanter -- a bunch of tannin... settled from there with air and didn't impair the wines ability to shine!

September 16, 2022 - opened this at around 1pm (for dinner at 6)... nothing wrong, light body, not a lot there... super pumped when I drank the first sip at dinner, this opened up and had red / dark red fruit with a nice layer of spice on top, great acidity, just a lovely elegant old old barolo... just what you want, easy going with some subtlety and med plus body
