October 20, 2022 - DnP. Very fine PN showing ripeness and retaining freshness. Drink now - onwards
April 12, 2020 - Very smooth and rounded taste
March 12, 2019 - Decanted 3 hrs.
C....light red, not especially clear.
N.....lovely dry herbs, a lot of alcohol, savoury, some intensity.
T....solid Medium body, warm alc, spices, wood. Interesting wine. Nothing near mature though drinking very well, long flavours, some power and essence. Earthy and brambles, some minerals. Tannins are in balance. Feels like it will a lot get better, 93 now but easily 94 on potential.
VFM? Good.
April 15, 2018 - good but would not buy again
September 6, 2017 - Just opened this one - this is evolving very nicely into an elegant, medium-bodied pinot noir. Savory fruit (typical raspberry and cherry, slightly tart, with a touch of earthiness), balanced acidity, fruity and spicy/savory character, a touch of saltiness (we'll see how that complements the grilled salmon tonight!), beautiful ruby red color and just enough tannin and acidity to "keep it honest". Finish lingers nicely with more savory notes and tart raspberry. Lovely!
April 25, 2017 - Unilke Trondvv below, I find heaps of tannins in this; though they're layered behind fudge, eucalyptus, salty liquorice and the NZpn-typical cherries.
Good length, good acidity and liveliness, will probably develop further for 2-4 years more.
April 23, 2017 - This pinot Noir reveals aromas of black cherries and seeet fruits. Concentrated, medium-bodied palate with great character. Some trace of tannins left.
March 19, 2017 - Monthly Tasting Group: Blind Pinots Worldwide (Meritage, St. Paul): Small pour from the other table. Serviceable. red fruits, aromatic. ok.
October 24, 2016 - Soft red cherry notes on the nose along with earth and floral qualities. Medium bodied and accessible form opening. Bright red cherry upfront, backed with deeper red raspberry behind and then switching to blackfruit as the wine deepens into the finish. Adds come blackberry notes along with just enough acidity to provide structure. This was much less spicy and in better overall balance than I suspect it may have been a few years prior. The evolution from red to blackfruit was quite pleasant and overall, this wine seemed to have benefited from its additional years which allowed it to show more balance. I'd drink in the next two years to capture the current stage of evolution. (West Bay Club, Turks & Caicos Islands)
August 11, 2016 - Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor dominated by Pinot Noir spiciness, but with very muted fruit. A little angular with respect to balance with a moderate finish. Not bad, but I wished for the voluptuous curves of an Aubert.
