December 16, 2023 - This is up there for me. What a fabulous, fabulous champagne. Still too young-- there is so much youth, it's quite remarkable given the vintage. But the youth so well balanced by a mature lees and oxidation..... what a wine. Couldn't have asked for a better birthday celebration!

August 29, 2023 - Lovely and deep, great fine bead with plenty of life. Some whiff of ox, unfortunately didnt have a chance to see it evolve over the night as it was wolfed pre dinner.

August 3, 2023 - Because of how youthful the 1996 Oeno and 1998 P2 showed on pop and pour in prior tastings, I decided to decant this two hours before dinner. I'm glad I did, because the 98 P2 was way more pronounced tonight.

I served this as a tricky blind (partially because of the above). I was super stoked when Rich called 1998 and Cary called big house Champagne. This is still bright and youthful in color, but shows its pedigree on the palate with its rich and detailed notes of brioche, delicate spice, sweet citrus, and yellow fruit. Lively and bright acidity with a long finish. This has a long future ahead!

July 8, 2023 - Pronounced intensity on palate and nose. Heavenly nose of honey, molasses, toffee, butterscotch, apple reduction/baked apples, cream soda. Palate of marzipan and dark caramel, butterscotch and toffee, a bit of creaminess and nuttiness, candied hazelnuts (almost Nutella-like), spectacular Maillard development. High racy acidity, med/med+ body (impressive for a Champagne), fine and tiny mousse, dry but leaves an almost sweet taste on the impeccably long finish.

My first Plentitude, and boy did it not disappoint. This was everything I love in aged Champagne. Well developed Maillard flavors with its candied-like caramelization, creamy and weighty (in a good way) mouthfeel, with a surprising amount of acidity keeping everything in tact. It's hard to imagine what more I would want. 97-98 today, with potential to hold (although probably won't develop much further).

June 22, 2023 - Part of a great flight with the 96 oeno and 02 P2. Bit more energy than the 96. Creamier, hint of oyster shell. Very refreshing on the attack. Retained more freshness/zing, Hint of classic p2 cold rolled steel/reduction on the palate. Sweet caramel on the finish.

April 5, 2023 - This was the most youthful of any of the recent bottles I have had from this vintage. It was wonderful!

January 2, 2023 - Absolutely one of the best wines and champagnes ever. The nose was off the charts open and complex.

December 30, 2022 - Very fresh and youthful showing today. Deep notes of yellow fruit and clean minerals. Lengthy finish. Improved with about two hours of air.

April 14, 2022 - We drank the 98 P2 on our wedding night so my notes definitely speak to an amazing and special occasion here but this champagne really is incredible! I remember it being fresh still with elegant and balanced citrus fruit, candied ginger, and again balanced toasted brioche. It is leaps and bounds above any “regular” Dom Perignon I’ve ever had. Along with KRUG Grande Cuvee, Bollinger RD 2002, and Vilmart et Cie Couer de Cuvee, this is the best champagne I’ve ever experienced to date! Bravo
