February 22, 2024 - More than 6 years since my previous bottle of this, but this is still doing very well, evolving slowly. The fruit is definitely more faded but still present. The truffle and savoury notes are a bit more in front. It needed a bit of air to really come into its own, too.

October 11, 2022 - Singing on day1 after an hour open. No detailed notes for tonight. Cran and herbal with a touch of white pepper. Medium plus acid. Medium tannin. Fans out on the mid palate and the finish is 60 seconds+. If you have some, open one and judge your own drinking window. If you have only one, open it now and enjoy or hold for up to 3 years.

May 17, 2019 - Brown-tinted dark red. Spicy cranberry nose. Medium to full bodied, fully integrated flavors of cherries, menthol, cedar, and spices. Nice long finish. This is in an excellent place right now.

November 19, 2017 - Very savoury and herbaceous. Truffle and Romano cheese indeed. Bright red fruit underneath it all. Just a fantastic wine, again showing Clark's mastery of this grape.

March 17, 2016 - Cranberry, herbs, a bit of oxidation. Integrated structural elements. Drinking well now, a nice showing of cab franc without the pyrazines it often has on its own.

January 21, 2016 - Not writing a big note because I have a cold. First day was green and astringent, second day was very good and flavorful, days 3 & 4 I've been sick, which has made it taste a bit harsh. Score based on day 2.

December 18, 2014 - Pine and tobacco on the nose. Ripe red fruit undercurrent. Tar, smoke.

Palate shows nice acidity. The wife said it's like a smoked Gouda. Spice, smoke, tannins are yet to reach middle age but attempt to balance the acid in an acceptable manner. The fruit is an undercurrent here as well. Sometimes tangy raspberry, sometimes a more ripe red fruit.

Delicious with chicken stir fry, probably great with any food. Dominated by a smokey note, a clearly well done wine that has a unique character but will prove to be versatile.

December 12, 2014 - PnP, cellar temp. Nose is all herbs with a hint of dark red and black fruit. Palate is initially minerally but with not a while lot else. Hints of spice, herb, and tannin.
Opened up and changed a lot over a couple hours. Smoke, herbs, red fruit, black fruit, and more all made appearances.
