February 23, 2017 - Really a gorgeous bottle. Brick red. Muted nose of faded cassis. There is still a cassis core, though it's all about the tertiaries. Mushroom, leather, sage. Perfect acidity alive for a great balance.

December 22, 2016 - Really advancing in age now, bright red fruits, bell pepper, a bit oxidized but very nice balance and a fun experience.

November 24, 2016 - Wow, would never guess this was 40 years old. Smooth and silky with fresh berries and cherries. Amazing wine.

July 18, 2016 - Drinking very well but paired against First Growth Bdx didn't hold a candle

April 14, 2016 - Pristine bottle with a mid-neck fill and an impeccable cork that looked like it was 10-years old, if that. Clear sherry color. Some mustiness on the nose initially obscuring the underlying autumn leaves, mushrooms and herbal notes. The wine really got going after an hour in the decanter. Dried rose petals, cherry, tobacco and a citrus note on the long sweet finish. Wonderful layers of complexity. Silky smooth with fully resolved tannins. An absolute delight.
