May 12, 2017 - Soaring, refined nose. Pretty sour cherry and meaty notes. Deliciously resolved, medium bodied, and lots of layers. More on the wild side of Syrah. Wonderful wine.

May 4, 2017 - Rare Northern Rhone Dinner (Tocqueville): This nose has lush blackberry, stone, and rare roast. Subtle at first, but somewhat brooding with power in the background. Sexy and intricate perfume. Endowed and juicy on the palate and imagine this will continue to be enjoyable for a long time.

August 13, 2016 - Nose is pretty epic on this wine, just an intense pop of black ripe fruit wrapped in smokey bacon and dusted with fresh soil. It had this almost aggressive chilling aspect on the nose that kept you going back for more.

The wine was decanted for about 4 hours then traveled for 2, upon reopen it had shut down and gotten clipped but after about 30 minutes it really opened up, that savoury sweet fruit layered in with such concentration at its core. The finish carried especially long as that meatiness just lingered.

Fantastic bottle of syrah, one of the best I've had.

August 12, 2016 - Oooh. An eye opener. Very smokey and meaty on the nose and on the palate. Some bacon and black olives. One of those perfumes that keeps changing with time. Great acidity on the palate. Tannins have softened by the time I tasted it. Decanted for 3 hours. I'm no Rhone expert but this is the best Rhone I have ever tasted.
