January 7, 2023 - Wine Night at TCC (Timuquana Country Club): Probably the wine of the flight at least a bit because it was the oldest wine and there is a certain regal-ness that comes with that. Well integrated. A bit subdued in style, but drinking nicely.

January 7, 2022 - Very full and fresh here. Quite bright for Cornas. Could benefit from more bottle time.

December 12, 2020 - Having successfully integrated its tannins, now showing good depth and soil tones and yet reasonably refined for Cornas.

June 12, 2019 - Pure, slightly austere, medium dark cherry fruit, some creosote, very nice though still fairly tannic and rustic. That straight arrow character that is Clape.

November 26, 2017 - Decanted 2 hours ahead. Brett initially on nose, then deep plum and tobacco - though with softness from age. Mid bodied, browning at edge only. Tannins resolved. Ready to drink (up). Would make different but still interesting old bones in 5-10 but this my last bottle.

October 20, 2017 - Bacon filled sweet fruit on the nose, palate was filled with cool fruit and acidity, but not much of a finish and could have been more expansive and expressive on the palate. The flavors are there but just not enough depth.

May 12, 2017 - Soaring, refined nose. Pretty sour cherry and meaty notes. Deliciously resolved, medium bodied, and lots of layers. More on the wild side of Syrah. Wonderful wine.

May 4, 2017 - Rare Northern Rhone Dinner (Tocqueville): This nose has lush blackberry, stone, and rare roast. Subtle at first, but somewhat brooding with power in the background. Sexy and intricate perfume. Endowed and juicy on the palate and imagine this will continue to be enjoyable for a long time.
