April 27, 2024 - Had the 2008 a few months ago and it was definitely past its prime. A little worried as we opened this bottle for our 22nd anniversary, but so glad we were wrong. This is the perfect cabernet sauvignon, which we paired with a luscious medium rare ribeye cap. Smooth, bright, fruity, easy to drink without having to decant or aerate. If you still have a bottle and are worried...worry no more. This is one of the best cabs we have had in a long while.

January 30, 2022 - Still drinking well, but backbone is starting to fade just a bit. Very relaxed tannins, it still has layers of red and blue fruit. Long finish.

January 31, 2021 - Very enjoyable Napa cab. Opened about 4 hours before dinner with 3+ in the decanter. Soft, relaxed tannins. Nose of plum, currants, butter cream, light vanilla, baking spices, chocolate. Acidic, but no overly powering compared to the fruit. A little hot but not distractingly so, it does dominate the end of a mid to long finish, though.

Paired well with a beef roast.

Should have a few years left but definitely drank well now.

September 6, 2020 - Decanted for 2-3hrs. Dark purple, almost inky. Nose is subtle. Palate has chocolate and leather tones. Still some grainy tannins in the medium-long finish. Holding up fine.

June 21, 2020 - Incredible wine, especially for a 2011. Essential cab, with flavors of mocha and a hint of coffee. Pair with steak. Ready to drink now.

April 26, 2020 - Recanted in glass about 30 minutes. Initial bouquet showed dark fruits and some black cherry, the wife says more on the nose in the beginning. Initial flavors of dark fruit and secondary flavors of coffe/mocha. A bit Smokey as well. Was a great paring with grilled strip steak and fries. Apparently 2911 was a tough year in Napa, but this was a really good wine. One more bottle to drink over next year or so.

February 10, 2019 - Balanced, good fruit, no tannins. Pop and poured. Very good especially for an 11.

November 1, 2018 - Decanted for two hours. Deep brick-red color. Big Cabernet fruit on the nose, with oak and black stone fruit wafting through. Fairly smooth on the attack, no doubt from the decanting, with somewhat awkward tannins enveloping the mouth. Black cherry & black plum are the predominate flavors, with hints of saddle leather and bittersweet chocolate. While this wine seems to want to evolve in the mouth, the finish is short lived. Another disappointing effort from a consistently disappointing producer.
