March 26, 2016 - 4th Saturday group "uptown" tasting (Mark & Rochelle's): Double decanted off its sediment and served with dinner about four hours later. Black fruit and pepper aromas with meaty undertones. Full-bodied with fine-grained tannins that are integrating nicely. The flavor profile mirrors the bouquet's dark fruit and meaty elements. As it sits in the glass it becomes more perfumed and softens a bit on the palate. Develops a bacon note too. We have one left which I will plan on enjoying within the next year or two, though this will likely hold on a bit longer than that.

March 10, 2016 - Deep, smoky, musky with dark black fruit. On the second day mellowed considerably with strong fruit and less structure.

December 7, 2015 - This is really hitting on all cylinders right now. Northern Rhone style. Big black fruit, smoke, bacon. Had with half a duck. Perfect match. I have two more. Just delicious. Suggest at least one hour decant.
