April 13, 2017 - The color of Burgundy - a deep, rich beauty in the glass. The nose is full with coffee, rhubarb, Zin funk, orange peel, cherry, and smokey, subtle herbal quality. It all appears on the palate between layers of cola making for a smooth and easy drinking Zin. The tannins are fully integrated. The wine which was once “an alcoholic mess” is now the definition of “balance.” Some sediment on the shoulder but absolutely none in the wine itself. 14.5% alc. With veal scallopine under mushroom sauce. Recommended.

July 21, 2016 - From Dusi Vineyard. Raisin, cranberry, leather on the nose. Rich, vanilla, brambly, jammy with supporting acid and remarkable tannin considering the age.

Riper than what I've come to expect from Ridge (combo of vintage + Paso fruit, or the era?) If you like older Turley, you would love this.

December 24, 2014 - Nice aromatics, slightly raisiny but good concentration. On the palate, a little thin and after being open for a couple hours started to show some high VA or something similar. Defintely at peak or a little past as echoed in prior notes.

January 13, 2014 - Certainly fading fast, but there was something still nice about it and hint of funk it never had before. We drank the whole bottle. Each glass got worse though.

January 1, 2013 - Nose of heavy dark fruit, but tapered over time to a nice balanced bouquet. Shared with friends, all commented that it was not as bold as a typical Zin. Very well balanced on the palate without the typical high alcohol feel of a Zin. Good fruit throughout and a nice long finish.
