    April 23, 2017 - Base wine from 2013 including 50% reserve wine, blend of 40/30/30 PM/CH/PN, creamy, good weight, balanced more on the complex side than the fresh one. Very good NV champagne.

    April 21, 2017 - A: pale lemon green
    N: Apple, meyer lemon, lime, grapefruit and biscuit.
    Youthful
    P: Dry. High acid, medium body, medium alcohol, medium (+) intensity and medium finish.
    Flavors much the same as nose but with a little drop of toffee
    C: BLIC? Points for length and intensity. Am wavering on balance here. I will give it a mark but the acidity feels quite high. Very Good Quality wine.
    I think it would be a little more interesting after some bottle aging.
    Fresh and clean and thankfully not plagued by the over generous sugar seen in many Brut champagnes from the grand marque. $40.49 isn't an awful price but better CMs available at the price. This NM is usually reliably good but i am a touch underwhelmed.

    April 13, 2017 - This was an energetic and flavoursome bottle of Champagne without great complexity. Quite floral fruit with strawberry touches on the lead in and then zesty lemon, nougat and bread on the finish. Energetic without that extra lift.

    April 8, 2017 - Mosimann's, Bentley Room for dinner with family and friends. Minimal note taking.
    A champagne that has eluded me until now. Very steely mineral fruit core: apples and hint of zest. Enjoyable enough but felt very young to my palate and might gain from a year or two in cellar to allow the flavours to emerge fully.

    (NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve) A bright style on the nose, with a chalky character. The palate, however, is quite gentle, rounded and creamy. Soft and full-flavoured with notes of baked white fruits over a fine grip which shows at the end, together with good acidity here too. Touch of creaminess to the mousse. Very good.

    (NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve) There is still a lot of sulphur here, with notes of sea salt and minerals, and behind that some notes of slightly medicinal, cough-candy notes. Minerally, firm, salty but also very sulphurous palate. Quite full and characterful beneath it all though, and overall it is nicely composed. A good, firm finish. I can only hope that the sulphur will dissipate with time as it is quite predominant at the moment.

    (NV Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve Champagne) Purchasd Autumn 2002. A pale golden yellow, with a very fine bead. Fairly delicate on the nose, with floral hints and a subtle, bready note. More showy on the palate, with a full body and good, creamy mousse, although quite foamy, with a somewhat sherbetty edge which I always find distracting. Strong acidity. Little complexity to the acidic, citrus fruits. Another that would benefit from six or more months in the cellar.
