December 11, 2023 - PNP. Beautiful nose of red cherry, sandalwood and spice. Lithe palate, decent acidity with deep red cherry flavors. Long finish.

May 11, 2022 - PNP. Red with amber rim. Bright nose, red cherry, menthol, oak and spice. Lovely palate, sweet fruit with a tart acidic core and some grainy tannins. Decent amount of sediment, so best to decant.

March 27, 2020 - Charming nose of dark fruit spices, and herbs, with a surprisingly fruit forward palate, rich and slightly sweet. Good balance to complement herbed pork stew but med- length and simple red fruit attack holding it back. Much less acidic and more crowd pleasing than the 2001 Jadot CSJ earlier in the week.

May 19, 2017 - Chicago Wine Flock...Winefool Serving Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Mostly Burgundy (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind in what turned out to be Faiveley 2001 flight. This "ringer" was opened 3-4 hours in advance, with a quick double decant. Rich black and red fruit with spice and dried herb hints. Comes across an nicely elegant, but moderate+ concentration and power. Clearly different than most in the flight, this was easy to identify as a "ringer."

May 19, 2017 - Winefool Intro/Retro (Chez Winefool): Served blind. Clearly an outlier in the flight. The color is a more mature, browning garnet. Wonderful layered nose of mature red fruit, musk, forest floor, potpourri and spice. The palate is generous and complex. The first hint of sous bois. Really in a prime drinking zone right now, though it should age for years. My #3, Groups #3.

February 2, 2014 - Super Bowl 2014 (Roswell, GA): Aged, cloudy core with orange rose rim; tart orange and cherry, mushroom, rusty nails; still a certain firmness to it, spice, displaying nice secondary almost tertiary notes; tasty though loosing its focus a bit.

November 8, 2011 - Mint and some brett on the nose, followed by some mineral and mature fruit aromas. Still has a lot of life left in the palate, and shows a medium finish.
