July 11, 2020 - PnP. At a good spot before expected decline. Fruit is not as prominent as last bottle. Pepper and cherry present. Drink up soon if you have bottles

April 24, 2019 - I think Mflesh nailed the wine description. Went with a pop and then ran through a Venturi. Was worried about some sediment but none was captured in the filter. This wine has a fantastic nose dark cherries and with slight hints of cacao and pepper on the finish. The wine still shows signs of aging a little longer. Currently it is in a very nice place now. You will not be disappointed if you pull the cork.

December 31, 2018 - Decanted 1:00. Opened up nicely to show diverse character. A bit earthy. Nicely integrated. Probably no reason to hold for more evolution.

January 18, 2016 - Great structure to this wine. The balance would suggest a blend. Plenty of cherry and blackberry notes with some back end of cedar and leather. Really nice right now but will last for a few more years easily.

September 28, 2015 - Week in wine country; 9/26/2015-10/3/2015 (Napa Valley): mid red, claret; cherry and plum on the nose; cran and apple flavors on the palate.

May 14, 2015 - A nice wine with very good body and density. Uncorked to a light to medium cherry stain on the cork with minimal bleed, and poured a very dark crimson into the glass. Nose was tart raspberry and some black cherry. The entry is pretty much the same, but rather soft mouth feel on the entry to a medium/full bodied wine. The wine displays a little bramble (more of a mineral bramble vs. an earthy bramble) in the middle but overall maintains good dark red berry backbone characteristics with a hint of baking spice and cinnamon. The finish was a little sweet cedar oaked, black cherry dominant, but overall the tannin was soft at first, then dried as long as the wine sat on the palate, with black pepper finishing. Ate some spicy spaghetti and the pepper finish on this one played rather nicely. This one seems to have very good structure, and I feel that this one will go the distance to 2020. But, it is definitely ready and approachable to drink now with minimal decanting.

February 24, 2015 - Bold purple color in the glass. Dark berries abound on the nose (black cherries, blueberries, blackberries), underneath the fruit are aromas of earth, cedar, dried leaves and some roses. Full bodied but balanced by moderate acidity and dusty but firm tannins. Black cherries, red and black currant and blueberry fruit dominate, rich fruit but it tastes nice and tart. The wine is laced with elements of graphite, tobacco and cedar, an underlying mineral element. Long, silky finish with notes of mocha and vanilla. A beautiful wine, this will only get prettier and more refined with three or four years in the cellar.
