October 13, 2020 - This was pretty amazing at 22 years old. As eoin harkins says: dried red berries, spice and worn leather. The fruit is there but reminds me of a dried floral arrangement and in all the best ways. There is also great acidity. This was so much more energetic than I expected. I opened it imagining a tired bottle that would be intersting to check in on a week night. My last bottle deserved a much bigger stage. Ah well. Really good wine!

October 28, 2017 - Another enjoyable showing tonight, takes a little to show the wonderful dried red berries, worn leather, spices and dried violets, the plate offers a similar profile with well integrated and soft tannins, medium acidity and medium plus length. Sadly my last bottle

June 23, 2017 - My experience of this one was almost exactly opposite to the Harkins note where this one took an hour to get going. This bottle was awesome after cork pop but just really crashed after an hour. Lots of floral notes were noted by others right after this one was opened. I came around to this one after approximately 90 minutes and was not that impressed. This was more of a hawthorne kind of floral. Not the floral bouquet that was noted previously. The palate didn't resemble the higher echelon of CDP.

February 16, 2017 - This is still a very tasty, now old, traditional CdP. The fruit is definitely fading now, which is why I have lowered my score from the last bottle that I tried a while ago. But it still has that sour cherry note, kirsch, garrigue and a medium finish.

April 29, 2016 - Didn't find that much was left in this wine unless you like austere wines

March 8, 2016 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape 1998 (Chez moi): A simple, but very delicate, light and elegant wine, very enjoyable indeed - the lightness especially is impressive, the balance and harmony is great.

December 28, 2015 - Considering some of the other 1998 CdP's I've had, this one was a bit underwhelming. The nose was muted and didn't have much behind it. The palate was a bit acidic for my taste. Not a terrible wine but didn't live up to my expectations for a '98 CdP.

November 27, 2015 - I love this CdP. It has notes of kirsh, sour cherry, green tea and garrigue. It has held up well despite passing its 17th birthday.
