October 7, 2014 - I really have two ratings for this wine: 91 for the first night and 93 for the second night. Originally decanted it for pushing 2 hours. Not heavy on the tannins on the first night, but they are there. Deep and dark. A great food wine. Even though this wine should be long lived, it is great now as long as it has a long decant.

September 3, 2014 - Very nice. Still evolving.....

April 11, 2014 - Medium crimson color. Nose is a mix of smoky and woodsy notes, with a faint hint of berries. The palate is dominated by flavors of ash and slate, again with the fruit being quite subtle. The palate is smooth and the tannins have softened and integrated. This is made in an elegant and linear style. Tasted blind, I would not have guessed California, or even New World. Rather, this seems like a properly-aged old style Rioja, or one of the more accessible wines from St. Emilion. It is unlikely to improve much, but is drinking gracefully right now.

December 25, 2013 - Enjoyed with dinner last night over a couple of hours, did not decant. Lovely bottle of wine; round, red fruit, well structured with nicely integrated tannins.

Beautiful dark red color, and a nice nose of red berry and cedar. I did not get the strong tannins that some others have experienced - but instead perceived medium, well integrated tannins, with no astringency at all. Medium body and finish. Nicely balanced wine which paired nicely with our steak dinner.

October 7, 2013 - This was a little rough right out of the bottle, but improved quite a bit after 45 minutes in the glass. Nice big cab with a fair amount of structure left, I'd guess this will still improve a bit over the next 2-3 years. Style is a bit old world, definitely not a napa fruit bomb.
