March 15, 2024 - Last bottle. Like I said in a prior tasting note.....I seem to have had a better experience with this wine than has been the case with other tasters. The wine was rated 94 by the Wine Advocate. My experience has been at or just under that rating. I have had 2024 down as the last year of the drink window. That might be a little conservative as there are no signs of it tiring.
November 5, 2022 - Drinking beautifully. Well balanced and elegant with dark cherry and just enough earth and mineral flavors.
December 25, 2021 - Thoroughly enjoyable
December 20, 2020 - Last bottle. Past peak, but better than a bottle from 6 months ago. Silky and delicious. Decanted an hour before dinner and held well through our meal. One of my favorite vintners. Excellent wine. Drink soon.
June 13, 2020 - Still excellent and balanced CA cabernet. A little past peak for me. Drink soon.
May 17, 2020 - Opened expecting to find it past prime. On the contrary - it was awash with red fruit and silky smooth. A really wonderful treat around the fire pit.
April 28, 2020 - As I said in a tasting note a while back, I seem to be having a better experience with this wine that many other cellartracker.com tasters. A few years back I drank a bottle over two nights, and it was markedly better on the second night. This time, I decanted it for 2 hours. It might be that some tasters out there are not decanting this wine......I suggest they do.
April 13, 2018 - This is aging glacially. There is not much hint of aging. The wine is drinking well today. With limited decanting it presents itself as a pretty, racy, ripe full bodied cabernet. Red fruit, cassis, tobacco. Lovely nose and long finish but the mid palate is a little hot and lacking complexity.
