January 9, 2023 - Still very young. Huge tannic structure, showing it's Mt. Veeder pedigee. This wine has plenty of life left in it. Black truffles on the nose, with mixed black fruit. Hold for at least the next 5 years.
May 21, 2019 - Chalky, cocoa, blue/blackberry, menthol, spice. Moderately complex with extraordinary length with a subtly vegetal finish.
May 13, 2019 - Cassis and blackberry followed by leather and pencil shavings. Long finish that starts out a bit hot. Great now. Probably better in 2 or 3 years. Wish I had more.
April 9, 2016 - This wine was murdered tonight. But at least I knew it. What a great 2012 Cab. Had a lot of youthful blackberry and blueberry pie notes up front, but the wine didn't really develop until 3 hours after. The wine was dark, deep. The wine was all dark young fruits up front with a hint of sweetness. There was a graham cracker crust in the middle, crushed lily mixed with blackberry pie and some cinnamon. Quite a thick, full bodied wine. Finished with a lot of cedar tannin finish. This wine always seems to have that home crafted feel. Beautiful wine. Well done. Very youthful, and for that reason I feel as though this one, even 3 hours later, is still not even showing 1/4 of what it has. What a nice, dark, complex wine that is easily 5 years away from really breaking out. Always a good wine from this producer!
