March 12, 2021 - Orange-ruby color. Mixed red and black berries with pets de soeur on the nose. Super soft tannins with a perfect mix of soft red, black, and blue fruits. Mild mint and milder vanilla on the finish. Varied and delicious.

November 9, 2014 - Delicious fully mature gigondas, with red fruit, spice and pepper flavors. Medium bodied, smooth. Too bad Bears are losing 28-0 to Packers, otherwise a great night!

June 11, 2014 - Crimson color. Nose and palate seem more Bordelais than Rhenish, with potpourri, red fruit and cedar wood. There is a residual aroma of garrigue, however. On the palate this is dry and stony, with a minerality that lingers into the somewhat astringent finish. Tannins have smoothed out but remain supportive of a few more years in the cellar.

March 23, 2013 - Carmine-chestnut colored; slightly cloudy. This immediately expressed a bouquet of dusty cherry, freshly-planed cedar, garrigue, and the warm, pleasantly fecund smell of antique wood furniture. The palate had a combination of earthy, juicy and acidic elements, like biting into a ripe tomato covered in herbes de Provence. The finish is smooth and full. This is a pleasure to drink now as it tastes optimally mature; it should be consumed within the next year or two.

May 15, 2012 - Blind Chateauneuf and Gigondas 1988 - 1995 (Berkeley): Group's #6; my #8; 3 first; 2 second; 1 third; 4 last. Aromas and flavors of dark fruits, licorice, herbs, and forrest. Full-bodied, a touch too sweet, with medium finish.
