March 30, 2024 - My first single vineyard from Produttori. I didn’t get the apparent floral/rose notes as all the other tasting notes indicate. What was more obvious to me were chocolate, licorice, and tar notes mixed with red fruit. Great balance paired with a long finish. Drinking well right now on pop and pour.

February 3, 2024 - Brown-tinted red and clear. Lovely complex bouquet, classic Nebbiolo with rose petals emerging after a few hours of air. Plush mouthfeel with crisp, long finish.

I can't help but think so many people would think this isn't a "great" wine, but it was great. Really, really fun. One of those wines that has everyone at the table getting a kick out of it. Super cool.

March 3, 2021 - Dinner at Home, Mill Valley, CA. From 750ml purchased on release. Decanted and returned to bottle mid-afternoon.

Fantastically fresh, vivid and transparent. Crazily engaging and satisfying nose. Surprisingly sweet youthful fruit on the palate, complicated by strong pulses of minerality and classic tar and floral rose notes. Surprisingly large scaled, but not heavy or tiring. Could use more detail on the finish, but I'd bet that will come with more time. Thoroughly enjoyable, even when finishing the glass after dinner without food. In its early window of approachability.

November 21, 2020 - Lovely middle aged barbaresco. Really lifted rose perfume nose, much more about roses than tar and no oak tones to dull the experience. Palate is quite Burgundian , lovely mellow tannins , still red fruited and excellent length. Drinking beautifully now but not sure it’s got the structure to improve with further age.

March 14, 2019 - A very strong bottle of Produttori. Classic and intense nose of still youthful Neb fruit with emerging saddle, tar and dried florals. The palate is so concentrated and so precise. Great balance is what is still a very youthful bottle of Nebbiolo.

March 13, 2019 - Dinner at S.K.Y. (Chicago, IL): #10598 of 17305. Circumstances only allowed a pop and pour, but this was ripping from the get-go. Probably one of the best bottles of middle-aged Produttori I've had to date. The nose was incredible, with beautiful aromatics of red fruit and flowers. If anything, given the vintage, I had expected something a little darker in complexion. The palate is similar to the nose, with a lithe freshness and plenty of beautiful red-fruited flavours. It's overall a fairly light wine, with no signs of earth or funk at all. Incredibly pure and crystalline nebbiolo, with tannins that are just starting to resolve.

June 3, 2018 - Prunes, old bonfire, rather short, dominating tannins, thus unbalaced.

March 11, 2017 - Miscellaneous Wines with Friends During La Paulée Week-Burgundy and Others; 3/8/2017-3/11/2017 (Various Dining Spots, New York): Decanted 6 hours earlier. Primary ruby. Powerful, mineral, earthy, tobacco-filled savory goodness with background sweet, red fruit and vibrant acids. Terrific, 15 more years of potential.
