May 10, 2024 - Classic Krug, quite approachable, crushed rocks, touch of light toast, soft lemon. Palate was baked green apples, rounder edges plus the lively acidity put this in great balance. Open and relatively accessible now, but I feel this has a long runway ahead of it with tons of potential. An excellent Krug but I don't think it will ever match the 96 or 08...but time will tell. 94+

May 8, 2024 - This is drinking great right now! So fresh and chiseled, deep and complexity. Still really bright and youthful, but showing nice maturity with some hazelnuts and brioche.

May 3, 2024 - Champagne Uchiko dinner. We drank this in a flight with Krug '95, 2000, and NV. The '02 was much more vibrant and alive than the other two vintage bottles, with more depth and nuance. Incredible mouth feel and balance. Almond, almond paste, meyer lemon, biscuits. Very long finish. This seems to just be coming into a VERY good place. It should hold and evolve for many more years.

April 27, 2024 - An excellent bottle, from Rare Wine. Deeply mature but well preserved. Appropriate mousse. Very Krug - rye bread, whiskey barrel, caramel, brioche. Good acidity. Full body. It won’t improve so I hope it will hold on for a while.

April 27, 2024 - 3rd of 21. 2.5 years since last bottle. This still has massive energy and is laser focused. This did not fully reveal itself over a 2 hour dinner. Continuous glass swirling helped reveal, to some extent, this supremely balanced chiseled beauty but really beauty to be with a finish that simply didn’t end. This probably needs another 5-10 years to reach its prime and will easily drink well for 4-5 more decades. This was exceptional with oysters and held its own with rack of lamb. Revisit 2027

April 24, 2024 - Lemon color, tiny bubbles. On the nose, toast, green apples, hazelnuts and hints of stone fruit. Full and complete on the palate, with great balance and complexity. Excellent acidity and finish that keeps going. Excellent wine.

April 14, 2024 - Very fresh, more youthful than I expected. Excellent persistence and power here. Nothing out of place. This isn’t typically my preferred style of Champagne, but this is delicious and its greatness is evident.
