June 23, 2015 - An Evening at the Grillmaster's House: Dark, meaty, funky nose. cherry with chocolate mid. brawny finish with fresh note of acidity. fully mature.

June 21, 2015 - The nose showed fully mature yet lively all the same, with moist soil, herbal tones, dried flowers, and plum. On the palate, it was finessed with zippy acidity and silky textures, displaying dark berry, soil and herbs, floral tones and hints of cedar. On the finish, it was light and fully resolved yet showing verve with dried flowers and hints of tart berry.

March 13, 2014 - Color: deep ruby -> diffuse, fully garnet rim. A little reticent on PnP so I let it sit for about an hour, bouquet unfurling and quite nice at that point. Lovely nose --very old-Bordeaux-ish: cassis, leather, a little coffee, medicinal and earthy. Alas, while the palate couldn't quite keep up with that nose, it's still holding on. Medium-bodied, tannins fully resolved with some light, red-fruit components, this seems a bit flabby; needs acidity and, unfortunately, a bit more length (medium -> short). I think this has started its slow slide off the plateau. Delicious, elegant, but just starting to fade a bit. Time to drink up . . . .

November 15, 2012 - Historical & Vertical Alión Tasting (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): Again a very Alion wine. Softie, accesible. Easy drink, ready to share good red meat.

De nuevo un vino muy Alion. Suavecito, accesible. Fácil de beber, listopara acompañar una buena carne roja.

June 1, 2008 - The color is definitely starting to fade on this wine to almost a ruby tawny color. Having said that, the nose is still pretty fresh showing some definative fruit charachters like cassis and strawberry. There are also some nice secondary aromas as well like horse saddle and black olives. Long and suave on the palate with a very good finish.
