April 4, 2024 - Not surprising, this was fantastic. No rush to drink; decades to go, I suspect.

February 14, 2024 - I received this bottle as a gift many years ago, and I opened it for Valentines. The cork broke upon opening, but the bottle appeared to be in good condition. I decanted to get the cork out, and then I poured. I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. My D'Yquem is a bit chalky. It is more Tokaj like, than Sauternes like. This is hardly a great bottle.

November 11, 2023 - I love when folks pick on an 'off' vintage of d'Yquem, seemingly forgetting that it still combines, acid, fruit, candy, and volatile weirdness into pure joy. This was pure joy. It is a rich, vibrant orange to light copper color that gives you vinyl as soon as it hits the glass, and then it starts giving you orange zest, orange marmalade, burnt sugar...it's got a creamy texture, but the acid cleans it up nicely and keeps it fresh and zingy. There's a caramelized nut taste in the finish. It's just starting to give off a little barely sugar, but wait several more years for a more expressive note on that front. Absolutely delicious.

September 20, 2023 - More golden than I expected. Not TCA. Not Brett. Not really oxidized but maybe slightly cooked from bad storage? Drinkable (89 points) but clearly off. Nose and palate dominated by apricot marmalade with touch of excessive grey mold (vs sweet botrytis) that materially muted and cut off the other classic d'Yquem notes.
