April 6, 2024 - Drank at the same Commanderie event and agree completely w BordeauxOne’s note. An opened recorked bottle was still singing on the next night w homemade burgers. However, an 05 Leoville Barton tried alongside at the event had a lot more structure and black fruit to it.

April 6, 2024 - Great easy drinking Pape Clement. Drank at a Commanderie de Bordeaux Partager. Still young. Can drink for several more decades if stored properly. Excellent with Beef Daube Provencal. Hold off for another 3 -5 years before drinking again.

March 9, 2024 - Small Tasting & Dinner with Friends: A taste from a bottle opened the previous evening. Very much Pessac with notes of black fruit, asphalt and iodine. Still a good bit firm and tannic, with flavors of black currant, plum and iodine with good underlying acidity. Generally speaking, it seems these '05s are evolving at a glacial pace. (R&D)

February 6, 2024 - opened last sunday. decanted for an hour, but was very tight and closed. nose of licorice, beautiful. after another hour of decant, it opened up very well. lovely wine and drinking well now and i believe can keep for 5+ years.

January 30, 2024 - Double decanted, given 3 hours in the decanter, then double decanted again....then slow ox'd for about an hour at our table while we tasted other wines.

Served blind: Dark garnet in the glass, no hint of aging at all. Lots of barnyard for the first hour or two of air which mostly blew off, leaving behind a touch of it along with leather, dark red/black fruit, black tea and later on in the evening, roses.

Palate of savory cherry, slightly tart, with some herbs de Provence. Nice weight to the wine in the mouth, drinks at least 5 years younger than its age whereas the '05 Pavie, to me drank 10 years older than its age tonight. Both good and similar scores but both very different. 94-95 for me with 6 hours total airtime. Must be a Left Bank/Right Bank thing with the '05s? This one feels like it wants more time in the bottle to me.

January 9, 2024 - Thin and closed on opening and took 2 hours to come alive
At its peak with tannins and fresh fruit nearby gone
    But lively secondary flavours
    Will try more recent vintages

January 8, 2024 - Now mature and prob at peak. Graphite edge blew off after 30 min. Dark juicy and delicious.
