November 21, 2023 - Lots of farmyard notes on the nose, with some air more moka, still good fruit, also meaty, some funky and rustic flavors, some dark chocolate. Tannins are soft now, but one could wish for a bit more body and length. Classy St. Estephe style though. - 90 points

February 18, 2023 - Tres bon vin.

January 3, 2021 - Nice surprise ! Still very much on primary notes. Needs at least 1 hr of air before drinking. Medium bodied.

December 21, 2019 - What a wonderful wine! With one hour of air there is a nicely balanced claret with nice fruit and secondary/tertiary aromas. It´s just a bit light and thin. Some green aromas fade away after 6 hours of air, but then the secondary aromas also have disappeared.
Knowing the bad vintage, its a surprisingly good wine for little money.

October 24, 2018 - Final bottle from a case purchased in 2002 and it has served me well. Not to mention the fact that I paid € 20.41 a bottle back in the day... Fully mature, fresh and slender, lovely notes of gravel and earth, the fruit is now more in the red cherry and red currant register, slightly grippy finish, light but with good length. It has run its course.

September 28, 2017 - Pemultimate (pristine) bottle from a case purchased in 2002. Firmer and fuller than the bottle tasted in August 2016, with good fruit and spice, a note of lead pencil, freshness and balance, a mineral core and firm but ripe tannins, good flavours and length with a hint of liquorice. A vibrant and energetic 1999, holding up well - better in fact than many others.

August 28, 2016 - Pristine bottle, tenth from a case purchased in 2002, perfect cork, level into neck. Mature but lively appearance; mature, harmonious nose, immediately open and attractive, a classical profile with ripe red berries, lead pencil, earthy depth and floral lift, hint of cold tea; the palate is relatively light, transparent and silky, fresh and with pleasant tannic grip, on the drier side but with sufficient fruit to avoid austerity; light finish, hints of cold tea and liquorice root, good length. This is a style I enjoy very much, but drink up before its twentieth birthday.

June 26, 2016 - An easy afternoon with close friends (@ FD): Beautiful and mature bouquet with still some dark fruits, cedar, tobacco, autumn impressions and a pleasant touch of barnyard. On the palate expressive and mature with still some red berries, sweet spices, mushrooms, autumn forest, a firm dose of juicy acidity and soft tannin. The wine is completely ready now and will not improve anymore. No extreme hurry drinking it either.
