May 5, 2024 - Tired and oxidized. Much worse than the last one.
February 13, 2024 - At Boston Wine & Poker, Needham, Mass.: Tasted blind. Bright red color of moderate density. No browning. Some tannin. Deep, old-barrel woodiness predominates.
January 28, 2024 - Past peak. Coming apart a bit, some roasted notes. Drink up now!
November 14, 2023 - Got a glass here now after an 8 hour decant and it is more approachable now than earlier. I am going to agree with the last 4 tasting notes (except for the split cork, mine was tight AF) because I am experiencing what they are and can't say anything unique, except if you don't decant for several hours, then you will miss the very best part of this "old school" Bordeaux. It drinks like a last century Bordeaux, and I am nostalgic for that style. The palate really opens up with a long decant, so decant, decant, and decant.
October 21, 2023 - Black raspberries with a hint of cassis. Herbal notes were balanced. Touch of chocolate also this is ready to go. Won’t get any better. Enjoyed
September 1, 2023 - Cork split in two upon opening, but each half seemed rather solid rather than crumbling. The wine itself was in similar shape; somewhere between sound and broken. Standing on the edge of the cliff. From a colder cellar than mine perhaps these are holding up better, but for me this is a bit long in the tooth, much more so than a 2005 BDX should be.
August 29, 2023 - Beautiful nose with rich tobacco, truffle, hint of baking spice, and black fruit. Palate much more subdued and on the rustic side. Dark fruit with still a lot of tannin. Not very complex but with the aromas this is still enjoyable. Finished within several hours - not one to go multiple days.
August 26, 2023 - Red and black fruit, cherry, cassis, tar ans some tannins. Delicious with the yak burgers.
July 21, 2023 - This wine is the bomb now. Finally ready. Red fruit, cherry, cassis, chocolate, tar, tobacco and herbs.
November 19, 2022 - yet ANOTHER corked bottle....down the drain
