February 15, 2024 - Popped, poured, and let sit in the glass to come up to temp. Nnnnnooooooooooooooooo! This was my last bottle of this damn fine Beaujolais. How did I only pay $22 for this wine? Black licorice, cranberry, underbrush, mushroom. Vibrant as hell for a 10 year old Gamay and don't see it declining anytime soon. Wow! 94pts

October 5, 2023 - drinking fine, i'd have thought it younger than it is. This bottle was not particularly aromatically expressive, though well balanced.

May 11, 2023 - Still in great shape but may have plateaued? A great final btl of 7 acquired in two purchases near release. Chambolle like charm & elegance. Superbly balanced. A silky, energetic mix of raspberry, granite, spice & profoundly pure fruit. Checks all the boxes for my palate perfectly. Weightless rich, fresh & concentrated. Kermit Lynch says from 50yr+ VVs. Terrific vintage for Thivin CdB! Viva la Beaujolais! Versatile & characterful red! Paid $20. Just saw an a new release offer for $25. Beat that for quality & value!

March 5, 2023 - Red color. Rich red fruit entry and mid palate. Mature yet still remarkably fresh given its age. Good concentration and structure, particularly for a Cote de Brouilly.
    Serve lightly chilled.

April 2, 2021 - Delicious, lovely red fruit and stone, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, hints of cranberry, lightly floral all supported by stone and earth. Great balanced acidity and tannin with light touch lushness on the palate. As much as I enjoyed earlier bottles, this one seems even better two years on. Served before and with grilled salmon, wild rice salad.

March 3, 2021 - Spending too much contemplating this wine feels like missing the point. This is pure joy--not meant to be fancy, not meant to be deep, not meant to be serious (though it is!). My note from three years ago still rings true; the wine has not changed much. Pine and slightly candied red fruit on the nose. Pomegranate, berries, and sage on the palate, simultaneously sweet, bitter, and tart. Low tannin though high acid that lingers. Finish is tart, slightly bitter, and mineral, of medium length. Drinking superbly now. Just an immense amount of joy stuffed into an under-$20 bottle.

December 25, 2020 - Light-bodied with good acidity. The fruit here is more red than black. Good persistence. I honestly don’t drink enough Beaujolais to know what is a good or bad vintage, but the way this wine is showing today is about as good as a Gamay can get for my palate.
