October 16, 2014 - This wine just got better and better as it opened up. Patience is the key. Plenty of time between opening and consuming. The
Wine presents as autumnal, it started as very earthy and ended as very plummy. Palate started out as tight and ended up full and full of mushroom, forestry elements. Very nice I just wish I had more! -

June 3, 2009 - I wasn't holding out a lot of hope based on my experience with previous bottles, but this one seems a smidge better. Some fruit coming through on the nose and palate now - stewed strawberries come to mind. Still loaded with meat and metal notes. Will be interesting to drink up my last couple of bottles for comparison. Salud!

April 1, 2009 - I nice earthy though not particularly elegant nose. Rustic loamy attack, nicely round mid-palate with surprising richness for the vintage. The finish is where this really comes back to earth (actually the nose and the finish). Very pleasant mid-weight finish that blurs quickly to a relatively short but nevertheless pleasant finish. Actually if you blended this with the Parent Bourgogne 2004 you would get the elegance and the weight. Well, for the price price I paid, a surprisingly nice drink. Not a steal, but very good.

March 10, 2009 - Good red berries and a little bit of spice on the nose. In the mouth, somewhat simple, but good acid/tannin and enough fruit and mineral to be interesting. No green or weeds.

October 15, 2008 - This is very good at the price. Good red fruit, raspberry/strawberry on the nose and in the mouth. Enough acidity to keep it bright, and enough tannin to balance it all out. If anything, even better the second day.

3/1/2006 (link)(Potel Nicolas Bourgogne Rouge Cuvee Gerard Potel) Nicolas found it hard to get the fruit he wanted, eventually he sourced mainly from Pommard, the balance from the Côte de Nuits. It was an easy vinification, not much plunging and bottled a little earlier to keep the fruit. He decided to change his technique for the Bourgogne more in line with his father's technique - so a saignée, 100% oak (none new) and ~20% stems. The nose is serious if a little closed and mixes a little oak toast with chocolate. Some sweetness on the palate, medium density and quite clean - any easy wine to drink.
