November 10, 2022 - 99/01 Guiraude & Base Crozes pairs. A really excellent 20+ year old Crozes with pretty stem and meat-filled fruit and classic proportions that evoke ethereal Hermitage, just not as intense or complex. So good for it's level and price. But a clear step behind the Guiraude bottlings.

November 10, 2022 - "The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Chicago, IL): Showing very nicely today even if the dirt this is from is not at the same level as most other wines at the table tonight. Red fruit and generally more light than more recent vintages of this wine, this is easily hanging on and likely still has some gas in the tank. A slight herbal note adds interest.

June 5, 2020 - in a half bottle, my last tasting recollection was it was past it's peak. other tasting notes gave me hope. Tar, Tar, and more Tar; way past it's prime

January 26, 2019 - Still solid... if you have it pop in next 1-2 years

November 23, 2018 - JT tasting #1: fully mature from classic producer with nice QPR. Dusty nose with blyerts, black currant, cedar, damp cellar, leather, iron, soil, gunpowder, bacon, mushrooms, smoke, burnt wood and some meaty notes.

Smooth and round mouthfeel with cedar, black currant. Nice acidity, calm finish. Roasted notes Christmas beer. 92p

(Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage) Clove, a little tar and burnt rubber on nose; woody, eucalyptus, earthy, with lots of grip, keeps getting better with air; short-medium finish
