September 12, 2014 - Last bottle - startred well in the glass but within 30 min fruit gone not much to like after that. This vintage has matured quickly and now over the hill for Les Cailloux.

June 7, 2014 - Very unfortunate: bought 4 bottles upon release--well stored. Just opened two to confirm: this wine has crashed and burned. Soft brick color--totally oxidized and faded. Completely undrinkable. So sad with other 98's holding up well.

April 12, 2014 - Comes out as a Pinot Noir, with a lovely nose of raspberries, strawberries and ginger. Really soft tannins- but not lacking structure. The color suggests the same with an orangey brim. However, possibly because I know this is a CNdP, I also spot a spicy sensation suggesting rosemary and pepper.

December 5, 2013 - Dull med dark ruby, reticent clean nose of plums and tea, surprisingly lively on palate with mouth caressing tannins and enough tartness to keep the fading core in focus

September 22, 2013 - Color: light ruby -> garnet/brick rim. Bouquet was medicinal with minerals and iodine overlaying saline and madeira notes. Palate showed that the fruit was pretty much gone; all tertiary elements here. Brown sugar, leather, a little garrigue and spice with a slight bitterness too. Acidity really searing through the palate with the finish growing shorter the longer the wine was open. I think this one crested its hill a while ago. Definitely past time to drink . . . or hold a few years to make some really nice red wine vinegar.
