December 24, 2023 - Picked this one up a few months ago as an auction buy......
Popped and enjoyed over 4-5 hours of air. It's best fruit wise at the later stages, but the balance is a bit off. Heavy and sharp acidity over rules anything else including the beautiful black cab fruit. I love the classic cab nose. The weight is fine at medium, but the acidity is far out of balance throughout. Was hoping this would get better with more air, but alas, no. 91-92 at best. I'll let the rest of the glass sit for another couple of hours and see what happens. I will report back here, if it improves further.
June 14, 2023 - Time has rounded offthe sharp edges of this wine, and it is quite enjoyable now
April 6, 2023 - Powerful and fruit forward with ample structure to last many more years. After two hours I think it’s solid but unremarkable
February 4, 2023 - This needed a two hour decant to open up. Blackberries,currants, dark cherries, leather. Still tightly bound by tannins. Best with food. I don’t see this improving, so drink up.
January 29, 2022 - Decanted two hours before serving. Deep purple color with some garnet flecks. Very elegant on the nose with dark berries, coffee, cedar, and a hint of tobacco. Full bodied with medium-plus chalky tannins and medium acid. Palate dominated by dark chocolate and coffee flavors with some black currant occasionally poking through. A bit much for me, but if you like this style I think it is well made.

March 24, 2021 - 2 plus years since the previous bottle and this cab is still very tannic.
Ouch... two bottles left, how long must I wait for this to smooth out?
November 28, 2020 - Somewhat disappointing, still very tannic, not drinking as well as I would have thought after 5+ yrs in the bottle. will wait another 5+ yrs before I try again
