December 17, 2014 - Signs of seepage on this bottle. Rich gold in color. Big nose of apple with trace of minerals. Echoed on the palate buttressed by surprisingly moderate acidity and no petrol flavors. Rich mouthfeel; goes down very smoothly.

June 18, 2014 - White fruit (peach), pretty strong sugar. Slight floral. Lingering
finish. Pretty primary. Cork soaked nearly through. Slight sign of seepage under capsule.

May 1, 2013 - The first night, this was rather tame without much nose, much acid, but had mineral notes in spades as it almost seemed to be effervescent. Day 2 this wine really took on a whole different facade. Rich, decadent, mouth coating and juicy thanks to subtle acid that meld this into an almost brilliant dessert type wine. Navel orange, peaches and whipped cream, a touch of some unidentified tropical fruits, maybe lychee, but very smooth and hard to believe that this is a Spatlese. This would give many sauternes a run for their money. With a lower ABV, this is so much smoother, it really is shining tonight. Straw colored and golden, the bottle showed signs of seepage and crystallization around the cork. I was worried, but this is in its comfort zone. Awesome bottle.1 person found this helpful Comment

Rockss and Fruit

(Wegeler Rudesheimer Berg Rottland Spatlese) Powerfully decadent wine yet closed aromatically. Holding alot in reserve it seems on the nose and pretty shy on the palate at this point in its evolution. It is enormously concentrated and ripe but is so backwards almost seems dry. Great material though.

(Wegeler Rudesheimer Berg Rottland Riesling Spatlese) Fantastic wine and it seems these wines are starting to come out of bottle shock. Nose of blue slate, white peach, whipped cream, wet stones and apricots. Powerful palate yet refined and elegant along with opulence and concentration. Exceptionally ripe and concentrated with a lovely purity and palate staining finish. A great '05.
