January 18, 2024 - Bromley Wine Circle does Bordeaux - 18th January 2024 (Chez Moi): Really muscular wine here. Some Bovril and liquorice on the nose. Palate is cool fruited, the tannins need another decade to fully resolve but a lovely drop. With some air there is a little dark chocolate on the nose.

January 7, 2024 - What a nice surprise! I had a rather austere wine in memory. But now, this bottle was very nice. Much more fun than the Mouton Rothschild 2012 we had for christmas (and did not really impress). The Lafon-Rochet 2005 is in a perfect drinking window - you do not require decanting, really: 10 minutes from bottle to glass will do. Nice aromas, crisp acidity, remaining sweetness of the fruit, smooth bit still present tannins. Unfortunately this was my last bottle.
