January 31, 2021 - By far the oldest wine that I've tried. Autumnal notes of tea leaves and tobacco, a note of iron that was slightly distracting. Opened up to give a surprising amount of fruit but at the end of the day this was a more interesting academic exercise than anything else.

January 15, 2021 - The colour showed its age, old tawny port like in appearance. This particular bottle was recorked in 1976. Earthy with graphite, old leather and mushroom bouquet with subtle undertones of preserved cherries and plums. Very fragrant though very little fruit left. Not surprising for this 63 years old Bordeaux. It is quite amazing that there is no volatile acid at all. Palate is very silky and long supported by a polished structure from entry to finish which is wonderfully deep and lingering at the back of the throat. Some residual sweetness of preserved fruit can be found in the mid-palate. But pour this in smaller quantity as it does fade quite quickly as it sits in the glass. This is a well stored bottle. Highly enjoyable on its own.

August 26, 2020 - Dog Year Wines (Yan, National Gallery, Singapore): Old and rather past its prime, which is expected given its age, but this was actually surprisingly alive. The nose definitely smelt of something old - with earth and leafy sous bois wrapped around some preseved berry and plum aromas, and then a little lift of tobacco spice. Rather funky, but decent enough. The palate was a lot fresher than the nose would suggest, still with a light layering of powdery tannins and a decent amount of acidity undergirding fairly pleasant flavours of plums, cassis and a sprinkle of dried berries, alongside more tertiary notes of earth, meat and a little spice. Quite yummy actually, and with a surprising amount of grip and persistence. Clearly past it’s prime, but still quite giving. I enjoyed this.

November 24, 2018 - From a bottle with a low fill for its age, I was pleasantly surprised, as I was not expecting this to be good. Light in body, with a tea colored hue, the texture was soft, showing the patina of its age. More on the secondary leafy, earthy, tobacco side, with just a hint of red fruits remaining , well stored examples could be even better.

July 7, 2007 - Dennis' summer tasting: (Bottled by Knud Jørgensen, Hellerup, Denmark) Dark red/brown, brown rim. Very sweet, tobabby and some red berries. It's pleasing, round and nice. It peaked some time ago, but it is still drinking nicely. The nose was the best (again). 90-.
