July 2, 2023 - This bottle was again proof that immaculate storage is paramount, this bottle was purchased upon release and stored in an ice cold cellar with constant 6°C, 42°F. And it really showed.

A vintage often underrated given it followed 1961, this showed dark brooding fruit, malt notes, forest floor, dried and wet leaves a good smooth texture, nice acidity and good length. Delicious to drink and was stable over the course of the dinner

February 6, 2023 - E&M Supps (E & M's in the rocks, Sydney): Ooh, a collection of faults on the nose…Touch Bretty, smidge of volatility but maderisation is probably the most prominent. Under this red and black fruits, touches of herbaceousness, leather, a little dried out, touches of mushroom. Volatility lends freshness, black over red currant, resolved tannins, tertiary notes. It's past its best.

February 26, 2022 - Why 62 is less than 61 (Wine Watch, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida): A pleasant if modest aroma of old Cabernet Sauvignon greets you if you bring the glass close enough. Well preserved. Mellow and sound. Invites some respect due to the elderly but no love. Yet better than some of the more august wines in the series.

November 7, 2019 - Clear and bright tawny core extended gently to the rim. The soft bouquet is filled with preserved red plums, toasty old spice box and leathery undertones. The palate reflects the inviting nose with elegance and silkiness from entry to finish. Medium bodied on a rounded structure but a touch watery in the mid-palate now. The spiced red and blue fruit lingered in the finish. Quite amazing that it lasted so long for an average vintage. Drink up if you still have a bottle.
