May 1, 2024 - My bottle which shows how much of a chameleon a well made single-varietal champagne could be.. Most thought this must be a blend, but turns out it is the first of two Blanc de Noirs of our night!

    Disgorged: Jun 2023
    Dosage: Extra Brut (3.5 g/L)
Blanc de Noirs: Pinot Noir 100%
Area: Clay-based soils of Ecueil, Montagne de Reims
    Cru: Premier Cru
    Style: Grower champagne

I felt there was heaps of bruised and ripe red apple, and this could have given it away as a BdN. The mouthfeel was one of interest too, lots of chalky minerality.

This may be Fred Savart's entry level Champagne but it is far from one-dimensional.

Half of which was fermented in mostly neutral barrel with the other half is fermented in stainless steel, and only partial malolactic fermentation. This wine is in equal parts a blend of three successive vintages and aged under cork, not crown cap.

Still a high level of liveliness and presents itself in a bright way, with crushed rocks and white flowers on the nose together with citrus notes.

Mid-palate is that of white pear, with baking spices and fresh brioche too. Medium- to full-bodied, with enough acidity M+.

Happy Birthday bro RN, and belated celebration with DQ too, great evening with massive wines at Stoked. Know what followed this? LMC's iconic Clos St Hilaire.. another BdN!

    Stoked, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

April 27, 2024 - Gold with copper hue, medium intensity, rather large bubbles. Developed, medium(+) intensity nose. Red winter apples and a touch of butterscotch. On the palate a very light sweetness, medium(+) rounded acidity, medium body. Mouthfilling with rapidly disappearing mousse. Flavours as nose. Very nice but miss a bit of the intensity, mousse and minerality, found in previous bottle.
From 100% Pinot noir, premier cru from younger vines. Around 1/3 2017, rest 2016, 2015. 85% fermented and raised in steel, the rest in large oak. Partly malo. Label says deg March 2020 with 7g/l dosage.

March 31, 2024 - Light gold, but honestly more pink than anything. Subtle brioche and mushrooms on the nose. Rich, vibrant, and deep. Last had on my 40th birthday. One of my favs! Happy Easter!

March 11, 2024 - good but I was expecting more. did not seem to be fully in place with rough edges (some bitterness); otherwise, the bubble is fine. to be revisited

February 7, 2024 - Always really good. Lovely darker Champagne nice red fruits, yeast, touch of brioche. Some peach. A whisp of smokiness on the finish. Great Blanc de Noirs, indeed one of the best value Champagnes you can find.
