April 30, 2014 - Haunting aromatics after some time to air in the bottle. Lots of mushroom and tertiary complexity with plenty of fruit left on the palate. Such tension to the mouthfeel.

April 20, 2014 - Excellent! A bit of white mushroom aroma cut by wonderful lemon acidity. Pleasant fruit and minerality. Youthful.

April 10, 2011 - I’ve had fresher bottles of this before but it is still quite a tasty drink. There’s plenty of crème brulee and candied peel development along with notes of white mushroom. It is sweet, rich and creamy in the mouth with decent volume and length of flavour.

May 18, 2010 - I reckon I’ve drunk almost every Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne from 1981 to 2007 over the years with the 81 being the oldest and one of the best that I've tried. It comes from an unheralded vintage, is not as powerful as the 96 or 05, does not have the exotic flamboyance of the 86 or 92, nor the great precision of the 85, 00 or 07 but it seems to me to be a nearly complete white Burg. There are aromatics of hazelnut, almond, lemon curd and white peach. With air some mushroom and truffle appear. In the mouth it has lovely detail, has just a hint of crème brulee but is still crammed full of orchard fruits and finishes with real cleansing, grapefruit acidity. It is a gorgeous drink and one of my wines of th year thus far.
