July 15, 2022 - Quite good, opened up nicely. Very enjoyable, loads of fruit, but very balanced. Some browning which gives away it's age. No need to wait on this any longer, in a good drinking window now.

March 15, 2021 - Bricking garnet color with a mm of clear meniscus, the initial fruit aromas are reminiscent of dark cherry preserve and figs and are accompanied by old leather and bark. A little VA also contributes a hint of varnish that with more air develop into more of an orange peel & clove scent. At age 22 this is very much alive and bewitching just as you would expect from a well made bottle of northern Italian wine. There is excellent balance here with soft round tannins and ample acidity to keep it all smooth and tasty. if there is nit to pick is that the finish isn't very long only round 12-15 seconds but that is easily fixed by taking another sip. Unlike a bottle I had about half a dozen years ago which took several hrs of decant to show it's best this one came into play fairly fast so careful not to over decant. A few hrs of slow ox should probably be ideal.

January 18, 2019 - It’s been more than 8 years since I last tried this wine. Still shows the bricking colors and still in a good space. Dried cherry notes. Good wine and good value.

July 17, 2017 - A deliciously seductive example of a Brunello. The fruit had matured wonderfully to give flavours of dried fig, sultanas and dried dark cherries. Although no fresh fruit remained on the nose, on the palate there was a soft juicy flavour of black plums underpinning the dried fruits. The oak aging had lent warm spice (nutmeg, some liquorice) and flavours of toast. The tannins and acidity were in harmony, with the tannins having integrated, giving a bold, structured yet smooth wine with a full body; clean and long finish. Aging notes of leather, furniture polish, dried herbs mingled on the palate. A joy to drink.

April 9, 2016 - Nicely aged. Dark brick color, nose of old leather, tar, candied cherry and plum. Medium heavy body with matching palate, surprisingly vibrant and very smooth, 10-15 second finish. Great showing for 17 year old grapes. I imagine this would last another 5-7 years if you forget about it, but it will only get lighter and thinner. Drink now.

November 22, 2014 - Our first brunello that really was aged properly and sufficiently. Garnet in color. Vanilla on the nose. Vanilla and berry flavors on the palette.
