September 2, 2017 - Firing on all cylinders. Great structure, incredibly long finish. Surprisingly round edges considering youth and high octane. Perfect companion to our dry-aged tomahawk ribeye.

March 29, 2017 - Great bottle of wine. Drank with seafood after a hot day. Tannins are still present and quite gripping. Finish was long and slow. Deep dark appearance with mocha, leather, casis, and lots of red ripe fruits. Hundred Acre never disappoints. This vintage still has lots of years left to cellar and the tannins will integrate over the next 5-10 years!

March 11, 2017 - Much of the green notes from 2 years ago had faded. Great balance, though certainly a powerful wine. Drank well against the 07 Verite.
    Perfect fruit.

September 10, 2016 - A bunch of mostly Cal Cabs (MOCA (Cleveland)): This is a big, more masculine wine. Very powerful and stood in contrast to the more elegant Shafer Hillside Select. Lots of mocha and cassis on the nose. Firm tannins. Lots of fruit on the palate. While deep, it took some coaxing to get it to unwind a bit in the glass. This seemed to need air or more cellaring. That said, it is delicious and very satisfying now. Still, I would hold a bit.
