December 2, 2023 - California Wine Weekend; 12/1/2023-12/3/2023 (Mos Eisley Cantina & Waterhouse Restaurant): This offered impressions of red fruit, jammy blue fruit, sandalwood and spice. Not as hot as the other wines in this flight but more anonymous. Ark is a rugged site tucked away in the base of Glass Mountain that has a strong impression of terroir in some vintages, but not the case today.

Hundred Acre went to extreme measures in 2009 to get the fruit quality, ripeness and extraction they wanted. It is rumored that Jayson had Helicopters fly over the vineyards to try and dry the fruit

End result is a surprisingly monolithic wine. The Hundred Acre collector at the table suggested that we give some better vintages a shot that have more stuffing.

April 10, 2023 - Red and black fruits and still tastes surprisingly agile and fresh. Well integrated cedar and tobacco notes. Potent yet not overpowering. Absolutely magnificent and enjoyed with a dry aged ribeye.

April 9, 2023 - We really enjoyed this wine with our Easter lamb. A full mouthful of dark fruits, blackberries, cherries, plum as well as notes of chocolate, and vanilla. Tannins were noted but not excessive. This wine was the favorite for the meal which paired with a Ducru Beaucaillou from 2008.
