June 27, 2023 - Nothing beats a mid-range Bordeaux for value-for-money. This Cathiard owned property (Smith Haut Lafitte) delivers good Bordeaux notes from a great vintage with help from its 70% Cabernet. Has aged well and is retaining good acidity and character.

March 26, 2021 - Probably sat on this too long. fruit and complexity have flattened out. not dead, but on it's way very soon

August 9, 2020 - Dark mature fruit with currants, plums and berries. Has a chewy core of tobacco and cedar.

May 3, 2020 - Deep rose with a hint of brown. Red cherries with a touch of cough syrup and hot cocoa on the nose. Notes of cocoa powder, chocolate-covered raspberries, with a pleasing integration into a pleasantly sour finish.

May 9, 2019 - Opened up another bottle tonight and I'm not super excited. The wine is thin and lacks substance. The nose is much more absent than my previous bottle. That being said, I think this wine has more life to it. CT is suggesting a 2018 drinking deadline. I think this wine could go another 5 years.
