March 1, 2024 - La Paulée de Los Angeles - The Verticals (Maybourne Hotel - Beverly Hills CA): Vertical. Entirely charming, accessible and prototypically Volnay in its floral, spice, and red-fruited profile. Open for business and so much fun today.

March 1, 2024 - Wines Tasted at the La Paulée Verticals Session (The Maybourne, Beverly Hills): Ruby core. Floral, green aromas. Discretely ripe tart red fruit and soil, light to medium bodied. Dry finish. Typical elegant Volnay. I liked the energy and lightness.

February 27, 2023 - Volnay vs Pommard: A divisive wine. Some liked the supposed funk on the nose but to me it was unintegrated oak, even though the nose admittedly wasn't the cleanest. Quite a dark wine to the point of being too ripe and heavily extracted. Guessed this was a Bouchard Caillerets.

October 21, 2017 - Tried another bottle this time from the recent 2014 vintage, more on the elegant side of Pinot Noir, fine supporting acid, moderate bodied with a strong minerality, delicious black fruit, precision and finesse is the correct diagnosis! Another top notch PN bottle but was outdone by the bottle from the 2012 vintage, give this 5+ more years, **(**), 91++ potential

March 25, 2016 - Quatuor inédit en Côte de Beaune - Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Tasting, brief note. Ripe red and black cherry with less spice but great fruit purity. Entirely destemmed. Intense minerality and textural finish that I really enjoy. VG+ 91-93 point potential here for the medium term, 2020-2030+.
