April 9, 2023 - If only all merlot based wines were this interesting. It's showing unbelievably and in a perfect place right now.

Merlot, cab and sangiovese blend gives this a richness and nose of black fruit up front. But due to bottle age it's now a little reduced and giving off more herbs mixed with a slight hint of Port. Not flabby because of decent amount of remaining acidity.

45 minutes of air is all it needs. Make sure you filter as it throws a ton of sediment.

Lovely with the easygoing beefiness of prime rib as dry aged beef would overpower it.

March 10, 2023 - Drinking well. Rich, complex earthy notes mixing with red and black fruit. Moderate acidity and some tannins. Enjoyable by itself as well as with NY strip. Enjoyed by everyone at my table with a mix of palates. Lovely.

February 6, 2023 - Nicely mellowed, bordering on mature but still alive for sure , dark cherry, tobacco, licorice. Very smooth and pleasant, bit hard to place in terms of origin.

July 3, 2022 - Beautiful incredible floral upon opening. Limited sediment But took a long time to truly reach its potential. Maybe I’m just not a fan of the Merlot based blends. It seemed a bit tannic. In any case, the dark cherry and liquorice were the primary flavors and it was a delightful bottle for a birthday celebration.

April 16, 2022 - The best Oreno I have had. This is in a terrific drinking window. Medium body, lively fruit remains and complex secondary notes.

December 18, 2021 - Drinking very well at seventeen years. Mature, complex and structured with a few years left ahead. Perfect with the roasted, stuffed pork loin and vegetables at a Christmas family gathering. Still 95 points. Excellent!
