December 1, 2023 - A wonderful Washington syrah
November 26, 2023 - Primarily blackberry on nose with a hint of smoke. Fruit forward; sweet blackberry fruit continues followed by high acidity. Decent depth.
August 16, 2023 - Nose of dried tea and raspberry. Lots of red fruit up front, charcoal. Huge mouthfeel, lots of tannin. Big finish. Really nice wine that should keep improving for a while. Would come back in 5 years.
September 26, 2021 - Drink or hold.
August 1, 2021 - This was drinking well but still a bit early. Initial notes of dark fruits, earth, and olive on the stunted nose. In the mouth it's big, rich, and tannic, though a little monolithic at first. We then decanted as it went into a shell for a couple hours before re-emerging to reveal more nuanced notes of herbs (i.e., rosemarry), graphite, damp earth, cured meat, and a mix of plum, blackberry, blueberry. With more time spice and tobacco came to the fore, followed by an increasingly long and expressive finish of the same flavors. I think there's more substance and complexity here that'll come out with a few more years of bottle age, but it's really good now with at least 2-3 hours in the decanter. 94+
April 21, 2021 - Herbal and earthy aromas,big red and black cherry, strong tannic structure and great mouthfeel. Strong strawberry preserve on the end with a modest peppery finish.
December 9, 2020 - Aged beautifully with black and red fruit, earthy herbal aroma and good tannic spine. Full bodied with a long lasting finish. Perfect to enjoy around the fire pit with new friends.
January 1, 2020 - Double decant. Very fruit forward syrah. Some earthy and saline notes but not a lot. I can see the Rhone comparison that is made and is a compliment to this wine. Long delicious finish.
Fades a bit on day 2 and becomes more of an easy drinker.
November 24, 2019 - 30 min decant and drank over 2 hrs. Went through phases but ended reminding a little of a northern Rhône. Still fairly young.
October 7, 2019 - Crazy good, rich, ripe wine. Consistent tasting notes.
