February 3, 2024 - This is good stuff; especially for a village wine; certainly ripe, but for a '15 it has remarkable balance and great freshness; cherry, currant, and black raspberry, floral notes a bit of damp earth and just a hint of wood spice; mostly just pure fruit; not much sauvage or development; but the balance and depth are excellent and the fruit is killer. Great now for primary notes and fruit; plenty of upside.

November 29, 2023 - Thanksgiving 2023 (Dogwood Grove/Rock Spring, Virginia): This wine blew everyone away and easily won WOTN. Silky mouthfeel, a harmonious palate with complex red fruit and earthy notes (raspberry, rose petal, mushroom, toasted oak) and a long finish for a fairly gentle wine. Seemed to be in a perfect drinking window.

July 23, 2023 - Quite similar to my first note this is singing right now. Beautiful bouquet of cherry liquor, some camphor and slight bacon and blood.
The tannins are smooth and the the wine is medium to full-bodied.

July 16, 2023 - This drank beautifully from open although it decanted in 2 glasses for an hour while preparing the delicious mushroom tort it would accompany, and that certainly didn’t hurt. Very smooth and full of fruit and and a sort of metallic minerality that I really like in Burgundy.

April 7, 2023 - Elegant burgundy. Good but not exceptional. Fruit driven and nicely drinking. Ticks the boxes, but not really deep/voluminous.

March 27, 2023 - Ripe red and black cherries, backed by woody notes, a bit of struck match/gunflint. Low-med acid and tannin. 13% Alc.
    Easy to like right now.
Tried this next to the 20’, and I was struck by the similarities in the glass, though the 20’ was notably more fresh and young. A reliable introduction wine for the Burg-curious.

January 14, 2023 - Medium ruby in the glass. Bright fruit blasting on the nose - redcurrant, raspberry, red plum, cranberry. Medium-bodied with lively acidity and moderate alcohol. Not much depth to this wine, but drinks quite easily. Bit overpriced.

December 14, 2022 - Stellar tonight. These are starting to come around. Will wait 3 more years before the next bottle, since these need more time to fully blossom.

    November 1, 2022 - Pale ruby.

Medium plus intensity on the nose with ripe and rich red and black cherry, raspberry, violet, chocolate, clove, dried cherry, earth, mushroom and forest floor. Developing.

Pronounced and dry on the palate. High acidity, low tannins, medium minus body, medium alcohol, long finish.

Can drink now but has potential for aging or further aging.

    Lovely elegant wine.
