December 24, 2021 - Crimson in color. 13.5% ABV. Super nose of plums, cedar and cigar box. Surprising power from in a Right Bank wine from the overlooked '04 vintage. Currants, cassis, tobacco and earth on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. The wine showed way better than expected based on previous experience with this bottling. Drink over the next 2-4 years.
September 19, 2020 - Crimson in color with some bricking at the edge of the glass. The label says 11-14% ABV? Ok I'll go with that. Pretty nose of red fruits, cedar, leather and tobacco. Nice balance of fruit and tannins. Currents, plums, iron and earth on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish with drying tannins. I think this wine has aged better than most would have expected. Thoroughly enjoyable on a rainy night in Seattle. Best over the next 1-2 years.

November 30, 2014 - Soft, silky, elegant and lush, the sweet plums, smoke, licorice and black cherries shine though in this medium bodied, velvet textured, ready to drink wine.
January 18, 2013 - Consistent with earlier note - Drinking good now. Good balance and well structured with quite ripe fruit and silky tannins. Very nice and classy.
September 3, 2012 - Plums and leather on the nose, good attack with plums, then kirsch and raspberry. Deceptively simple at first, this blossoms in the final quarter, with a second wave of creamy blueberry, before a return to the plums and raspberry. Not oaky, not over-concentrated, I liked the style of the wine, which I had never tried before, but this one is a little too powerful - the 13.5° tastes like more because of the low acidity. It's a good wine to taste rather than a good wine to drink.
August 13, 2012 - Clear, intensive red. Smoke, light tobacco nose with smooth mineralic note. Tannins still present, smooth finish of red fruit, bitter note (bitter almonds), elegant, a bit short but a nice drinking wine. Overall lacking harmony of fruit to acidity. Now - 2025
March 18, 2012 - Drinking good now. Good balance and well structured with quite ripe fruit and silky tannins. Nice and classy.
June 21, 2009 - Complex, spicy ripe fruit and anise aromatics pairs perfectly with a rich, silky entry and the long, fresh, ripe, opulent plummy finish.
January 16, 2009 - This wine was quite simple. The nose was smoky with leather while the palate had a hint of raspberry.
